It's Game Time!

It is that time of the year - can't wait to see you all at our first set of games next Saturday (Jan. 10).
A couple reminders:

1. Games are scheduled to start this coming Saturday (Jan. 10) at the Anthony Wayne High School. If you need another copy of the game schedule, please visit the link below:

**Friendly reminder to all 5th/6th grade participants: One weekend you are scheduled to play two games in order to avoid having an off weekend; please pay attention to this on the schedule.

2. Your daughter's t-shirt or jersey (if needed) will be coming this week at practice.

3. There is NO admission fee charged at games, so we encourage you to bring the whole family! We also do not provide a concession stand, so players need to bring their own water bottles or use the drinking fountains.

4. As we were reminded this morning, we have reached the lovely part of the year where weather affects travel, etc. If we have a Saturday morning or afternoon of rough weather, I will communicate with you as soon as possible if there are changes/cancellations. We will communicate in the following ways: coaches email, participants email, major TV news stations (if they have their cancellation tickers going), program website, and girls' basketball Twitter feed (we encourage you to follow us -  @AW_LadyGenerals).

5. If you are looking for something to do Fridays in January, consider coming out to a basketball game! On Fridays in January, you have the opportunity to come out and see both our girls' and boys' Varsity teams play on the same night. The schedule is listed below, with the girls' Varsity game starting approximately at 6:00 pm, followed by the boys' Varsity game around 7:30 pm. You will only have to pay once to see both games. I know that both teams greatly appreciate your support!
Friday, Jan. 9 - Home vs. Perrysburg
Friday, Jan. 16 - @ Bowling Green
Friday, Jan. 23 - Home vs. Southview
Friday, Jan. 30 - @ Napoleon

As always, in closing I would like to remind you that these games are designed to teach these young girls the game of basketball and perhaps spark a love of the game. Your cheers and POSITIVE support make all the difference for these girls as they run up and down the court. I thank you in advance for your support at each and every game, but remind you that we would really appreciate you staying positive - towards both the young girls and our high school players as they assist on the clocks and as officials in the 3rd/4th grade games.

Thanks again for your support and we will see you in the gym!
