General Information

The Anthony Wayne Lady Generals Jr. Generals Basketball program is designed for girls in the third through sixth grades. All interested girls are placed onto a team and are given the opportunity to practice and play in a supportive and fun environment, all while developing their basketball knowledge and skills. 

Players will be placed on a team according to their age - third and fourth graders play together in our 3rd and 4th grade league, while fifth and sixth graders play together in our 5th and 6th grade league. 

The league's clinic will be held in early November, and practices will begin mid-November. Most practices will be held on Tuesdays or Thursdays. 

Games will begin in January. 

League Details: 
  • 8 - 12 girls per team - all players who sign up will be drafted
  • All players will have approximately equal playing time
  • All teams will practice one time per week at an AW school gym
  • 3rd and 4th grade games will be officiated by the AW Lady Generals Basketball players and coaches
  • 5th and 6th grade games will will have certified officials
  • All parents who sign up to coach ARE REQUIRED to attend the coaches meeting, held on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 pm. This meeting will discuss details and expectations of the league, emphasizing the focus of sportsmanship, fundamentals, and team play

Fees for the league are as followed:

$85 for all players include: 
  • reversible jersey 
  • skills clinic
  • entry into a Lady Generals' basketball game
  • ten weeks of practices and six weeks of games
  • certified officials 
  • liability insurance and coaches' background checks
